Biography of Sifat Rahimee
Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Munich-Germany
Mr. Sifat Rahimee currently serves as Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Munich, Germany and prior to his current appointment, he has worked as the Deputy Chief of Mission – Minister Counsellor for EU and NATO at the Embassy and Mission of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Brussels, Belgium.
Mr. Rahimee has previously worked as Chief of Staff – Director General at the Ministry of Finance, Supervising Directorates of Bilateral Economic Commissions, Monitoring and Coordination, High Economic Council Secretariat, Documents and Relations and International Affairs. He has also worked as Senior Advisor to the Minister of Education on Programs Management and Head of Executive Office at the Ministry of Education, as Secretary General of Afghanistan’s National Commission for UNESCO and ISESCO from 2013 until 2014, Executive Assistant and Advisor to the Minister of Education from 2010-2013, Special Aide to the Minister of Education from 2009-2010, National Consultant at USAID, Resource Center Officer at the Office of the President from 2006 to 2008 and Program Assistant at Coordination of Afghan Relief (CoAR).
He is currently pursuing his second Masters’ Degree in Major Programmes Management at University of Oxford; completed his first Masters’ in International Negotiations and Policy Making from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies of Geneva and received his BA in Business Administration from the American University of Afghanistan.
During his fourteen years of professional career, Mr. Rahimee was awarded, through a Presidential Decree, with the highest governmental medal of Mir Masjidi Khan by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
